I am writing to you with the intention of applying for a job as junior editor at your publishing company. I am certain I meet all your requirements.
I have been in love with books since childhood, when I first learnt to read. I remember vividly how my innate curiosity has led me to become fascinated with books and the process of writing them. Since the early days of publishing, much has changed, though. Now, books pass through the hands of many before readers may finally grasp them with eagerness, and the role of the editor has become one of great importance.
I hold a Masters Degree in English Literature and a Bachelor’s Degree in journalism, and have passed the most difficult exams in three different languages, aside from my mother language, which is Romanian: English, French and Italian. I also have experience in translating different types of texts, ranging from Physics textbooks to poetry and short stories.
Regarding previous working experience, I have been employed by the local newspaper in my home town and have been an editor for my high school’s magazine, “Luceafărul şi noi”. During my time spent in high school and university, I have developed my leadership skills and have learnt to work well in a team to reach a preset goal. I am a very determined, organized and thorough worker, as I strive to please both my employers as well as the targeted group.
